Sakura Kyouko is one of the central magical girls in the Madoka Magica film series, a veteran Puella Magi who initially appears as an antagonistic figure before developing a close bond with Sayaka Miki. Kyouko is known for her aggressive fighting style, her belief that wishes should only be made for oneself, and her tragic backstory involving a wish that ultimately destroyed her family. The Maiko ver. dresses Kyouko in the traditional attire of a maiko, an apprentice geiko from Kyoto, reimagining the fierce magical girl in an elegant cultural context.
