Good Smile Company brings Rocksteady from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life as part of their villain statue series based on the artwork of James Jean. This figure stands approximately 230mm tall and is sculpted from ABS and PVC, with sculpting work credited to M.I.C., Iwakura Keiji, and James Jean himself. Rocksteady is one of the TMNT's most recognizable villains, a mutated rhinoceros who alongside his partner Bebop serves as muscle for the Shredder. This statue series reimagines the classic villain designs from the original Playmates toy line with dramatically elevated detail, turning the familiar bulky, armored look into an exaggerated and highly textured sculpt. The James Jean art style proved especially well-suited to the villains, whose imposing forms benefit from the stylized treatment. The paint work on the villain series received high praise, with vibrant colors and clean application that surpass the darker tones of the companion Turtle statues. Rocksteady shipped in 2017 alongside Bebop and Shredder, with Krang completing the set later.
