About this figure

This Bandai Ultra Monster Series figure captures Livyjira, a kaiju from the 2024 series Ultraman Arc. Numbered 219 in the 2016-era Ultra Monster Series lineup, it depicts the creature in its full prehistoric glory. Livyjira is a prehistoric species of whale-like kaiju classified as the Giant Cetacean Beast, first appearing in the fifth episode of Ultraman Arc. The creature's name draws from the biblical sea monster Leviathan and Herman Melville, author of Moby-Dick, combined with the Japanese word for whale. Designed by Kemon Kawamoto, the kaiju features a massive mouth specifically requested by director Masayoshi Takesue to be large enough to swallow Ultraman Arc. Its design incorporates air vents for salt generation, bioluminescent glowing elements on the head inspired by deep-sea creatures, and white body sections symbolizing salt accumulation. The figure is part of Bandai's long-running Ultra Monster Series, made of soft vinyl material and scaled to match other standard entries in the collection.
