MegaHouse presents Slifer the Sky Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters as part of their Mega Toon figure series. Standing approximately 130mm tall, this collectible was sculpted by Ekoshi and Kuriyama Emiko and reimagines the iconic Egyptian God Card in a cute, cartoon-inspired design. Slifer the Sky Dragon is one of the Three Egyptian God Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh!, alongside Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra. In the series, these cards serve as the Pharaoh's guardian deities and are essential to restoring his lost memories. The Mega Toon concept draws from the Toon World card mechanic, which was exclusively used by Pegasus J. Crawford, the creator of the Duel Monsters card game. When activated, Toon World transforms all monsters on the field into cartoon versions, and only Toon monsters can deal damage to other Toon monsters — a deceptively powerful effect. Though the toonified monsters appear adorable, they represent a despair-inducing presence in the story. The Mega Toon series launched with Slifer the Sky Dragon and Dark Magician as its first wave, with a suggested retail price of 6,050 JPY and a release date in September 2024. The line later expanded to include The Winged Dragon of Ra and Red-Eyes Black Dragon, giving collectors the opportunity to assemble the complete set of toonified Egyptian God Cards.
